Hi, everyone, glad to see you again! Welcome back to Hanbridge Mandarin HSK Program. Today I want to share a pair of words with you, “新鲜” and 新颖. These two words have similar meanings but they differ from each other in situations and usage. Let’s have a look!
新鲜：It’s an adjective.It has three meanings.
1. Firstly, It is usually translated into “fresh”, describes food or flowers that have not faded or expired.
2.Secondly, It is also used with “air” to say it contains no impurities.
3. Meanwhile, it also means something “new; strange, rare” and uncommon.
新颖：1. It is usually used as an adjective to describe something “nascent, new and original, novel”.
