How to Use “突然(tū rán)” and “忽然(hū rán)”

突然 and 忽然can be used as adverbs, which are both translated as "suddenly".
突然：This can be used as an adjective and sometimes used with "的" added, meaning "sudden/unexpected".
突然：This can follow an adverb of degree, to show that the speaker feels an occurrence is sudden and unexpected.
