Frequently Used Chinese Sentences – Prepositions of Locality

No matter what kinds of language, it cannot avoid many prepositions of locality, same as Chinese. When we ask for directions or talk some locations, we also use many different prepositions of locality. How can we use them in sentences?

Let’s listen to some audios:

nǐ de xié zǐ zài chuánɡ xià。
1. 你的鞋子在床下。
(Your shoes are under the bed.)

wǒ jiā fù jìn yǒu hěn duō biàn lì diàn。
2. 我家附近有很多便利店。
(There are a lot of convenience stores.)

nǐ yào qù duì miàn de ɡōnɡ jiāo zhàn zuò chē。
3. 你要去对面的公交站坐车。
(You should take the bus at the opposite station.)

yī yuàn hòu miɑn jiù shì dì tiě zhàn。
4. 医院后面就是地铁站。
(The metro station is right behind the hospital.)

xínɡ li xiānɡ lǐ yǒu hěn duō yī fu。
5. 行李箱里有很多衣服。
(There are lots of clothes in the suitcase.)

bái sè de chèn shān zài yī ɡuì lǐ miàn。
6. 白色的衬衫在衣柜里面。
(The white T-shirt is in the closet.)

tā jiù zài wǒ pánɡ biān。
7. 他就在我旁边。
(He is right beside me.)

ɡōnɡ jiāo zhàn jiù zài qián miɑn。
8. 公交站就在前面。
(The bus station is right on ahead.)

wǒ zài nǐ jiā duì miàn de chāo shì děnɡ nǐ，hǎo mɑ？
9. 我在你家对面的超市等你，好吗？
(I will wait for you at the supermarket that opposites to your home, is it ok?)

zhè ɡe fàn diàn de pánɡ biān yǒu yí ɡè hěn yǒu mínɡ de kā fēi ɡuǎn。
10. 这个饭店的旁边有一个很有名的咖啡馆。
(Beside the restaurant is a famous coffee shop.)

zhuō zi shànɡ yǒu hěn duō shū。
11. 桌子上有很多书。
(There are many books on the table.)

bīnɡ xiānɡ lǐ de niú nǎi méi yǒu le。
12. 冰箱里的牛奶没有了。
(There isn’t milk in the refrigerator.)

tā de diàn nǎo lǐ hěn yǒu duō zhào piàn。
13. 他的电脑里很有多照片。
(There are many photos on his computer.)

wǒ jiù zài mén wài děnɡ nǐ。
14. 我就在门外等你。
(I will wait for you right outside the door.)

lóu xià yǒu yí ɡè rén zài jiào nǐ de mínɡ zi。
15. 楼下有一个人在叫你的名字。
(There is someone calling your name downstairs.)

nǐ de yī fu shànɡ yǒu yóu zì。
16. 你的衣服上有油渍。
(There are oil stains on your clothes.)

bó wù ɡuǎn mén kǒu yǒu hěn duō rén。
17. 博物馆门口有很多人。
(There are lots of people at the gate of the museum.)

jī piào shànɡ yǒu tā de mínɡ zi。
18. 机票上有她的名字。
(Her name is written on the ticket.)

zhè běn shū lǐ xiě le hěn duō bù tónɡ de xiǎo ɡù shi。
19. 这本书里写了很多不同的小故事。
(The book consists of many different small stories.)

chāo shì jiù zài xiǎo qū wài miàn。
20. 超市就在小区外面。
(The supermarket is right outside of the estate.)
