Frequently Used Chinese Sentences – In A Restaurant

As you know, it's not easy to order food in a restaurant in China. Because even you have a menu, you may not know exactly what the food is and the English menu sometimes will not match to the food on 100 percent right. So, the best way is to learn some frequently used sentences to help yourself to understand and be understood when faced with the waiters.

nín hǎo，qǐnɡ wèn jǐ wèi？
1. 您好，请问几位？
(Hello, may I ask how many people?)

qǐnɡ wǎnɡ zhè biān zǒu。
2. 请往这边走。
(This way, please.)

qǐnɡ wèn chī diǎn shén me?
3. 请问吃点什么？
(May I ask what you would like to have?)

qǐnɡ ɡěi wǒ cài dān，xiè xie!
4. 请给我菜单，谢谢！
(Please give me the menu. Thanks.)

qǐnɡ děnɡ yí xià ér!/qǐnɡ shāo děnɡ!
5. 请等一下儿！/请稍等！
(Please wait a moment! / Hold on, please.)

wǒ yào yí fèn zhè ɡe。
6. 我要一份这个。
(I’d like this one.)

zhè ɡe là bu là？
7. 这个辣不辣？
(Is this spicy?)

zhè ɡe hǎo chī mɑ?
8. 这个好吃吗？
(Is this delicious?)

wǒ yào bú là de。
9. 我要不辣的。
(I want no spicy food.)

nǐ men yǒu jiǎo zi mɑ?
10. 你们有饺子吗？
(Do you have dumplings?)

zhè shì niú ròu de jiǎo zi hái shì zhū ròu de jiǎo zi?
11. 这是牛肉的饺子还是猪肉的饺子？
(Are these beef dumplings or pork dumplings?)

wǒ hái yào yí fèn chǎo fàn。
12. 我还要一份炒饭。
(I’d like a piece of fried Rice.)

fú wù yuán，qǐnɡ bānɡ wǒ jiā yì dián ér chá shuǐ，xiè xie!
13. 服务员，请帮我加一点儿茶水，谢谢！
(Waitress, please give me more tea, thank you.)

qǐnɡ wèn yǒu zhǐ jīn mɑ？
14. 请问有纸巾吗？
(May I have some tissue, please?)

qǐnɡ wèn xí shǒu jiān zài nǎ lǐ?
15. 请问洗手间在哪里？
(May I ask where the bathroom is?)

zhè xiē ɡòu le，qǐnɡ jìn kuài shànɡ cài bɑ，xiè xie!
16. 这些够了，请尽快上菜吧，谢谢！
(That’s enough, please serve ASAP. Thank you.)

qǐnɡ ɡěi wǒ yì bēi hónɡ jiǔ。
17. 请给我一杯红酒。
(I’d like a glass of wine, please.)

fú wù yuán，mǎi dān!
18. 服务员，买单！
(Waiter, Bill, please!)

qǐnɡ wèn ké yǐ kāi fā piào mɑ?
19. 请问可以开发票吗？
(May I have the invoice?)
